Description
The Bugatti Bolide represents the final, most extreme evolution of Bugatti’s legendary W16 engine, built as a track only hypercar with absolutely no compromise for road use. First revealed as a concept in October 2020, the Bolide began as a challenge from Bugatti chief Stephan Winkelmann to his engineering team, imagining what the brand could build with none of the usual restraints of a road going car. Bugatti confirmed a production version in April 2023, limited to just 40 units at roughly 4 million euros each, with all examples spoken for and the first customer deliveries beginning in early 2024.
At its heart sits Bugatti’s iconic 8.0 litre quad turbocharged W16 engine, the same engine family found in cars like the Chiron and Centodieci, but reworked here to produce as much as 1,850 horsepower on racing fuel. Paired with a lightweight carbon fiber composite chassis developed in collaboration with Le Mans prototype constructor Dallara, the Bolide weighs as little as 1,240 kilograms in concept form, giving it a power to weight ratio that genuinely rivals a Formula 1 car. Bugatti claims the Bolide is capable of lapping the full Le Mans circuit in just over three minutes, a figure that places it firmly among the fastest track focused vehicles ever built by any manufacturer.
Hot Wheels brings this extraordinary track hypercar into its HW Exotics range, finished in a bold Blue paint that highlights the Bolide’s aggressive X shaped design language, prominent air intakes, and central exhaust configuration at 1:64 scale. This casting celebrates the final chapter of Bugatti’s legendary W16 combustion engine in one of the most extreme road legal adjacent hypercars ever conceived.
