The 2018 Bentley Continental GT3 represents the second generation of Bentley’s dedicated GT3 racing program, developed from the all new third generation Continental GT road car and built around the MSB platform, a modular architecture shared with the Porsche Panamera. Bentley Motorsport unveiled this second generation racer as a successor to the original 2013 Continental GT3, which had already established itself as a fan favorite across championships like the Blancpain Endurance Cup, the Pirelli World Challenge, and the British GT Championship, where it claimed the title outright in 2017.

Built around the road car’s mostly aluminum structure, the 2018 GT3 was engineered to a race ready weight of significantly less than 1,300 kg despite its imposing “land yacht” proportions, powered by a twin turbocharged 4.0 litre V8 producing around 550 horsepower without a restrictor plate. The car featured a full FIA approved racing grade steel roll cage with an emergency roof hatch, widened wheel arches to accommodate racing slicks, and bespoke BBS racing wheels with center lock hubs, all developed by rally specialists M-Sport, the team behind Bentley’s entire GT3 racing program. After years of near misses in major endurance events, the second generation GT3 finally delivered a marquee victory in 2020, winning the prestigious Bathurst 12 Hour at the opening round of that year’s Intercontinental GT Challenge.
